Mission Statement:
“To create a world where science and technology are celebrated, where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes.” - Dean Kamen, founder of FIRST
Our team members value hard work, achieving your fullest potential and each other. Our main goal is to provide a platform for members to explore, practice, and develop STEM interests and ideals. We welcome anyone who would like to expand their understanding in these areas, and aim to help prepare them for the future.
Diversity Statement:
Four Eyes is a team that welcomes everyone no matter who they are. Many of our team members cope with various mental illnesses, including autism (Asperger's syndrome) and ADHD. Many of our team members are also part of the LGBTQ+ community. We as a team are proud that we are inclusive of everyone, despite their differences.
Team Members:
Nadia Schatz
I’m Nadia Schatz and I’m in 11th grade. I help with assembly, CAD(Computer Aided Design), and electronics on the team. My interests include math, science, band, color guard, and of course robotics. I enjoy music and leading my school’s SAGA (Sexuality and Gender Acceptance) club. I joined the team so that I could expand my robotics expertise and have fun.
Erich Schuller
I’m Erich Schuller, an Engineer at Boeing. I have over 20 years of experience spanning Knowledge Based Engineering, Stress Analysis, Structures, 3D Design Automation, Electrical, and Infrastructure Integration. I spent a year mentoring an FFL team before working with several other mentors and a talented group of kids to start a community-based FTC team which meats in our garage throughout the year. I primarily provide mentoring in the STEM aspects of the team.
Kolya Rice
I'm Kolya Rice, a father of two kids. I've lived all over the United States, but mainly grew up in New Hampshire. I've always been interested in science, particularly physics, rocketry and astronomy. I work for Disney running large scale data warehouse systems. I like to program, play games, mountain bike, hike, and downhill ski in my free time. I am a new mentor to this team this year.
